4DGs

The 4DGs are a family group (the family of none-other than original Mekon Tom), 3 sisters and a brother with angelic voices singing a wide mixture from The Carpenters through Frank Sinatra to sacred and profane classics in 4 part harmony. Meiling was a chorister at Exeter Cathedral where Esme, Theo and Sabina are all currently choristers. As well as vocals they also feature violin and trombone. They have played at festivals in Devon and Somerset and last summer saw them busking in the streets of Edinburgh and playing at the Festival. They like to keep busy playing and singing in loads of different choirs and orchestras but the 4DGs has that special blood on blood sound you get from family singing together. They are currently trying to work on a couple of mekons tunes but say they are having trouble with the 'shouting' but have adopted an approach similar to the Slovenian avant-garde music groups Laibach's cover of the Beatles Let it Be. See them at mekonville.
